Chinese Gold Pandas

The Chinese Gold Panda coins were introduced in 1982 by the Chinese Mint. They were created to meet rising global demand for bullion coins. The success of international mints inspired their design.

In 2016, the coins switched to the metric weight system. This replaced troy ounces to align with global standards. The change also appealed to the domestic market in China.
